Escape the winter blues with a two night break at the Price of Peace. Watch the wildlife in the
garden, the wide variety of birds and the squirrel that visits every morning. The Kingfisher is a
frequent visitor to the river bank as are the bats in the evening. Across the river look into the valley
and the deer may appear, or just enjoy the peacefulness with a good book or a sketch pad. At night
the badger may call but waits until we are all tucked up safely in bed. For the more energetic there
are a number of cycle trails and footpaths as we are situated within Tarka and Ruby Country.
There are also a number of pre-arranged guided walks on Dartmoor throughout the winter period
that you can join www.dartmoor-npa.gov.uk
Should you wish a guided walk from Hatherleigh to take in the surrounding area
then we can arrange this for you with our local guide Roger.
In the evening enjoy a meal at the Laurels Inn, Petrockstowe or the Tally Ho, Hatherleigh where we
have arranged a two course evening meal with a glass of wine or pint of beer. Chat to locals or sit
quietly by the fire, either way you will have a memorable evening. Return to the Price of Peace for
a nightcap (all alcohol must be self supplied) or a coffee and after a good night’s sleep you will be
ready for a Price of Peace hearty breakfast.
